SUZUKI has released details of its 2005 model range, unveiling a host of exciting updates. The flagship Supersport model, The GSX-R1000, has been re-designed and again breaks the mould for the one litre Supersport class. Suzuki has always set the trends in the class and for 2005, key changes in the flagship model include an innovative new exhaust, lightweight wheels and aggressively reshaped bodywork.
Riders of the legendary GSX-R series do not accept compromises and the new 999cc model embodies a total commitment with radically new technical and styling ideas. The Suzuki GSF600 Bandit has been given a larger engine. The new GSF650/S has a 656cc motor, compared to the existing model's 600cc unit. The increased capacity of the GSF650 makes it an even more useable bike, equally at home taking short Sunday afternoon ride outs, commuting to work and handling longer trips.
Versatility comes as standard, with suspension that allows pre-load adjustment at the front and pre-load and rebound-damping adjustment at the rear. As a particular bonus for shorter riders, the seat height is also adjustable, making the new Bandit a true crowd pleaser. Ideal for inexperienced and all-weather riders, optional ABS brakes will offer the optimum in safe stopping control. Increasing its involvement in the thriving Supermoto market, Suzuki has introduced the DR-Z400SM. The model is an updated version of the DR-Z400S - an already-popular Enduro machine.
At 134kg, the 'SM' is ultra-lightweight machine, designed for nimble handling road use. With these characteristics, the emphasis is firmly on fun, rider involvement and lively back-road scratching. Suzuki's new VZ800 is pitched at riders who favour a relaxed riding position and adore custom styling.
Powered by an 805cc, V-twin motor, the bike has archetypal 'big-twin cruiser' styling, featuring a classic chrome and black finish. In the spirit of its class, the VZ800 offers torque-laden, progressive power delivery for laid-back riding and leisure touring.
