Newport Wasps, devoid of a point on their Premier League travels this season, are running out of time to put the record straight.
Wasps make the short trip to Somerset Rebels tonight and travel to Stoke tomorrow evening (both meetings start 7.30pm). They ride at Rye House a week tomorrow.
But Wasps are not alone in finding life bleak away from their home track - Newcastle, Edinburgh and King's Lynn all in the same boat. However, Wasps are the only team without a bonus point.
The Wasps could end the awful run at Somerset tonight but they are hardly likely to gain anything at Loomer Road the following night, Tony Atkin, battling to find form after his return from a broken arm, going back to his former track.
And with a little way to go before the season ends, clubs are already beginning a team shake-up, including Berwick, who are visitors to Hayley Stadium in a double-header on Sunday afternoon, Reading first on track (tapes-up 2.30pm).
Berwick boss Peter Waite was more than just a little upset after losing at home to Stoke recently. And he swiftly recalled Tom P Madsen from King's Lynn and leaving Claus Kristensen from his line-up.
Waite fumed after the upset: "I can inform our crowd who are also very unhappy with things, that I will not be walked over."
And Edinburgh manager John Campbell has confirmed he is expecting a different-looking Monarchs team to be tracking next season. Campbell said: "Nothing is definite as we don't know what the finishing averages of our riders will be, nor do we know if the combined 45-point team limit will be retained."
It may be that Wasps' promoter Tim Stone - never one to give too much away - falls into that category. He can hardly go into next season with the same line-up after such a disappointing season, whatever results are achieved before the season's end.
Veteran Neil Collins, in opposition to the Wasps this evening, is one rider linked with the Wasps, and Stone is known to be an admirer.
Sam Hurst finished joint fourth in round five of the British Under-15 Championship at Sheffield. He scored 11 points, with Shane Waldron, both four points behind winner Josh Auty, who is the overall leader, with 51 points.
Hurst, who riders for GMB Mavericks, lies in eighth position. The next meeting is at Carmarthen on September 19, and the final round at Mildenhall on October 3.
