Newport Wasps are facing a heavy schedule with five Premier League meetings in as many days, starting with a visit to King's Lynn this evening.
Wasps, still looking up at all the other teams in the league, ride without Pavel Ondrasik who is competing in a Czech League meeting.
Wasps, searching for their first away point of the season, ride at Somerset on Friday evening and then at Stoke the following night.
Newport's Dane Mads Korneliussen misses the meetings at Somerset and Stoke because he is on World Under-21 final duty in Poland, the meeting to be staged in Wroclaw on Saturday night, but he will be available for the big double header on Sunday when Wasps stage a double-header, opening with Reading and followed by Berwick (tapes up 2.30pm).
Tim Stone, Newport promoter, will use rider replacement for Korneliussen in the meetings at Somerset and Stoke.
Korneliussen lines-up in an extremely strong field and will do exceedingly well to finish in the top half of the 16-rider field, Swede Antonio Lindback who rides for Elite League Poole, arguably the favourite, with Korneliussen's fellow countryman Kenneth Bjerre (Belle Vue).
The world field also includes Swedish brothers Jonas and Daniel Davidsson who ride for Oxford and Poole respectively, Reading's Matej Zagar, the Slovenian and Edinburgh's Australian, Rory Schlein.
l Somerset's Matt Read was involved in a high-seed three rider pile-up in the fourth round of the world long track grand prix at Morizes, France, at the weekend.
Somerset boss Mick Bell has revealed said: "We do know that Matt has head, chest and back injuries but as to the full extent of the injuries, we don't know.
"We feel very strongly that the full details of treatment taking place within the hospital should remain private to Matt and his family."
* Prices for the Premier League double header at the Hayley Stadium on Sunday are £16 for adults, £10.50 for senior citizens and £5 for children.
