Barry's Waterfront Festival is the flagship event for the town and is one that grows in popularity every year.
Now on its third time around, the festival has grown from 7,000 visitors at its inaugural event to 14,000 people in 2003.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council hope this year's event will be bigger and better than ever before.
The catalyst for that first Barry Waterfront Festival was a combination of the arrival of the Tall Ship Stavros S Niarchos coupled with significant financial support provided by the agri-food section of the Welsh Development Agency who have been highly supportive of the event.
And the organisers of the 2004 festival have been grateful for the continued sponsorship of the WDA as well as the Associated British Ports, Cardiff's White Dove and Westbury Homes and the marketing and public relations provided by Cardiff based Shining Star UK Limited.
