WE sent ADRIANNE MASLEN into the streets of Abergavenny as an 'alien' for the day. The results of her trip might surprise you...
A bu-eyed mutant trawling through the streets, stopping off for a quiet drink and browsing market stalls - it was just another day for the people of Abergavenny.
Dressed in alien attire, I took to the streets of the town to test whether the locals in one of South Wales' UFO hotspots were really used to visitors of an extra-terrestrial kind.
My day began with a stroll through the High Street, stopping off for a pint or two in the local pub and ending with a visit to the market.
Despite its reputation I was sure a real-life alien was not a common sight in the Gwent town, so I expected quite a shock reaction from my fellow shoppers.
Much to my own surprise, however, no-one batted an eyelid. I felt the odd stare, but it seemed that spotting an alien was a typical occurrence on market day in Abergavenny.
In fact, once the initial embarrassment had subsided I began to feel quite at ease and I almost forgot what I really looked like! Perhaps it just goes to show that alien sightings in Abergavenny are nothing out of the ordinary.
