CRAIG Bellamy insists that Wales will not be side-tracked by the lure of England to the detriment of their opening two World Cup 2006 group six fixtures.

Mark Hughes' side first have to negotiate Azerbaijan away and Northern Ireland at the Millennium Stadium and take on Latvia in Riga on Wednesday in their final warm-up before the qualifiers, and Bellamy says the team won't be taking six points for granted before the crunch clash with England at Old Trafford on October 10.

Bellamy said: "We are professionals and know we have a job to do, so we won't get distracted. The next match is the biggest one and for me the next one is Latvia.

"It is an important one but it is always important to represent your country.

"We had important ones against Canada and Norway and played some good football, hopefully we can keep that going into the Latvia game."

Bellamy is looking forward to the campaign and he believes that it will be a straight shoot-out between Wales and Poland for a play-off spot, assuming that favourites England will top the group.

The Newcastle striker said: "Azerbaijan will be tough over there and Northern Ireland will get everyone behind the ball and they have had some positive results that way, getting draws with Spain and Greece.

"I think England will be the team to beat and will lead the group. If they don't finish top there will be uproar.

"No disrespect to Azerbaijan and Northern Ireland and Austria, but I think it will be a straight shoot-out between us and Poland."
