THE 2004 annual smart rally of the coolest, customised and creative cars takes place on Sunday, September 26, from London to Brighton.
Thesmartclub and DaimlerChrysler UK have joined forces for the third year to host a mass gathering of smart: the iconic and revolutionary smart fortwo; the compact and curvaceous smart roadster; and making its inaugural appearance, the first smart with four seats, the smart forfour.
The rally starts at Sandown Park Racecourse, near Esher, and finishes at Brighton Racecourse. A colourful concourse of cars will be displayed in Brighton and prizes awarded for the best modified and the most unusual and creative car.
Al Young, chairman of thesmartclub, the UK's official club for all things smart, said: "More than 1,000 smart took part in last year's rally, which was a huge success and this year we've had to change the start and finish venue to accommodate all the participants.
The rally is becoming the fixture in the smart calendar and with 20,000 members now in thesmartclub, we're confident that even more smart owners will join in with the fun this year."
Participants can arrive at Sandown Park from 0700 hours and the convoy sets off at 1000 hours. smart owners and enthusiasts who want to register interest in joining the rally should log onto www.thesmartclub.co.uk or contact the smart info centre on 0808 000 8080.
