IT MAY not quite be at Brecon's level yet, but Pontypool's annual Jazz in the Park festival is building quite a reputation.
This is the fifth year that jazz fans have been invited to the town's extensive park for a weekend of live performances from some of jazz's best entertainers. There's also a selection of up-and-coming acts.
The festival certainly has one major advantage over its better-known big brother in Brecon - it's only £3 for entry to everything with the purchase of an event programme.
Featured acts this year include the Jive Aces, Pete Wilde, Wonderbrass, Matt Sage, Bill Fletcher, Jason Ball, the Memphis Seven, the Keith Little Hot Six, Saxophony, Martha Skilton, Debbie Lear and many more. Jazz in the Park takes place from September 3 to 5.
For more information about the acts performing, call musical director Tom Williams on 01495 773880.
