A GWENT community is celebrating after winning a 20-year battle to provide their children with a playground.
Residents of the Woodlands in Penygarn, Pontypool, have spent years tirelessly fundraising to provide an area where the estate's 120 children can play safely.
Now, thanks to their efforts and funding from Communities First and Barclays bank, their dream has finally become a reality.
And the playground, officially opened at the weekend, is already proving a hit with local children, who are making the most of the summer holidays at their new adventure ground.
