CARNIVAL-GOERS in Monmouth braved the rain to enjoy floats, racing terriers and local bands.
Around 3,000 people who turned out were treated to the Exemption Dog Show and a church service was staged on the carnival field hosted by Monmouth Baptist Church.
The carnival procession was led by the Regiment band of the Royal Welsh Regiment and Shenkin the goat mascot.
Cyril the Squirrel and his racing terriers performed the unique highlight of the show the Ring of Fire.
Monmouth band the Bitchpups were unable to perform due to the weather.
The carnival committee's acting chairman David Evans said: "Despite the rain, around 3,000 people turned up and stayed until the end, which was great."
