Welsh badminton star Kelly Morgan is determined to build on her success at the last Olympic Games by going one step further in Athens this month.
And with a bit of luck the Pontypridd shuttle ace may just get a chance to grab a medal in her third Olympic Games.
"Each games has been amazing and I'm just looking forward to getting to Athens and continuing the preparations," said Morgan.
Speaking at the Team GB preparation camp in Cyprus, she added: "In badminton it is the pinnacle of your career to compete in the Olympic Games, so to be able to have done two previously has been a huge honour and will hopefully help me this time around.
"I reached the last 16 in Sydney and definitely want to go a step further, and with a bit of luck I could even reach the semis.
"But so much is dependent on the draw because I'm not seeded. Then it could be a harder route towards the final stages for me, so we'll just have to wait and see how that pans out.
"If I avoid a seed in the first two rounds and get going, then anything is possible, but the important thing for me is to try to avoid any of the Chinese players as they all go into these games as favourites.
"If I play as well as I can do, then anything is possible."
And Morgan is hoping that the GB badminton squad can continue the success they achieved at Sydney 2000.
She said: "Sydney put British badminton on the map with our success there, and hopefully we can replicate that success this time around.
"All we can do is our best, but we are determined to go out there and get our share of the glory.
"Every Olympic Games we get better, but this time the squad is better prepared than ever."
And the 28-year-old isn't too worried about the anticipated soaring temperatures in Athens later this month.
She said: "The heat won't be a huge problem for us as we often compete in Asia, where the sport is huge, so we are used to that.
"But also it is indoors and all the venues have air conditioning, so we won't be as affected."
Morgan already has one gold medal to her name, from the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur six years ago.
In fact, Morgan will travel to Athens as the most experienced badminton player in the British game.
And her coach, Zou Junling, is confident that she can come home with her head held high.
He said: "On her day Kelly can be the best in the world, and she has shown that with several notable scalps during qualification."
