"SUPERHORNY" David Wrench is Wales biggest sex symbol after Tom Jones.

He's nearly seven foot tall, albino and wears a perfect white suit. His music is a kind of mad- style, very clever pop music which has gripped the nation.

He sounds like a pale-faced Barry White and the backing track squeaks along like the Pet Shop Boys.

Only a true eccentric could produce such crazy sounds and if his online biography is to be believed, he is.

Much of his life has been spent bandying around Wales, his gangly pins in lurid leggings and his hair died bright blue.

Musically, he started with a squelch when he released Wales' first acid house track in 1989 as Nid Madagascar.

It sold out in a week and appeared on Welsh TV and Radio 1. University followed but they booted him out for being on drugs during a music exam.

After a spell counselling students with problems he made soundtracks to experimental films and got an acting job as a Celtic warrior.

His music career picked up again when he supported Gorky's Zygotic Mynci then formed a band called The Serpents including Gruff from Super Furry Animals and Will Sergent from Echo and the Bunnymen.

But he spent most of his time producing records for countless Welsh bands during which he honed his keyboard skills and developed into the musical curio he is today.

Tomorrow night he's playing Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff on his first tour since releasing his breakthrough single Superhorny.

The album from whence it came has yet to be released but is rumoured to be only a kiss away.
