ROCK in the Dell is on this Sunday in Chepstow Castle with another long bill of the best local bands.

The Usual Suspects, My Ugly Friend, Anthill Mob, Estevez, Bitchpups, (pictured) A Few Good Men, Classic Rock UK, Pasttime, Straw Dogs, and Souled As Seen roll from 12noon to 10pm.

It's a mixed line-up with everything from punk to soul, songwriters to cover bands, which should keep the small town satisfied. The Usual Suspects are a five-piece from Chepstow that plays hits from the 60s until now.

My Ugly Friend are a harder breed of covers band, playing mostly rock numbers, with members swapping solo duties.

Anthill Mob are more indie and have written quite a canon of folky songs, some of which have got onto the BBC.

Estevez won the 2002 Chepstow young band of the year competition since which they've taken their punky ska to the masses.

Bitchpups (pictured) are doing great on the back of their name lately but they also sound fine playing a mix of punk, metal and funk.

A Few Good Men will take you back to the chest-thumping days of the 1980s in the style of U2 with more and more anthemic rock music. Classic Rock UK, other than having a fantastic name, play covers of classic rock tunes by the likes of The Who, Cream and The Rolling Stones.

Pasttime are a self-confessed lazy band who like nothing better than to be half naked messing around on stage!

Straw Dogs, according to the Rock in the Dell website, are a bunch of ex-crocks and formed the band after a drunken brawl involving pool cues. And finally, Souled As Seen are an 80s formed soul band who were inspired by The Commitments and went from playing small clubs in Chepstow to entertaining thousands at Butlins.
