WHETHER your thing is guitars, keys, decks, drums or vocals, there's a place for you at St David's Hall's summer music school next week.

Run in collaboration with educating charity Community Music Wales, MusicMix is a four-day workshop for talented young musicians. It runs from Monday, August 2, culminating in a performance on Thursday, August 5, at 6pm.

It's a great opportunity for people aged 12-21 to develop their own compositional and performing skills while being exposed to, and influenced by, new musical styles.

Separated into what organisers are calling 'music domes' the participants will receive tuition on a wide variety of instruments, from electric guitar and keyboards to singing, DJ-ing and gamelan.

Following the success of previous years MusicMix maintains the focus on exploring new instruments and ideas.

Combining these various elements creates an exciting fusion of pop, rock and Javanese gamelan.

Those taking part will have the chance to perform live in a public concert in the St David's Hall auditorium, the highlight of the workshop week. For further information and to book a place contact Dave on 029 2087 8571.
