Celtic Cruises

A WELSH cruise company is offering holidaymakers the chance to get a totally different view of Wales - from the sea.

Celtic cruises offer a range of one and two-night cruises around the coast of south west Wales, exploring its natural beauty, heritage and wildlife.

Each cruise is designed for up to 12 people and all depart from the harbour at Burry Port,Carmarthenshire.

Accommodation is on board Lo Entropy, a 20-metre sailing ketch which can accommodate up to 12 people in six twin cabins, each with their own facilities, for overnight cruises.

All main meals are prepared on board, using local produce when possible, and are included in the price. A cash bar and sundries shop is also available.

For example, there is a two-night sea-birds and seals cruise which takes in Tenby, Caldey Island and Stackpole head to Milford Haven. The first night is spent at anchor in the River Cleddau.

Next day the ship cruises around the islands of Skomer and Skokholm and back to Dale to anchor overnight once again. The final day is spent cruising back to Burry Port via the islands and Tenby.

Cruising time averages approximately six to eight hours a day and there are opportunities to go ashore at the skipper's discretion.

Other cruises offer an overnight stop on Lundy Island and others are drawn up specifically with birdwatchers in mind.

Prices start at £85 a person.
