This summer a new bus service will open up new opportunities exploring Ceredigion's coast.

The 'Cardi Bach' will operate until September 25 (Mondays to Saturdays) between Cardigan to New Quay, passing through Ferwig, Mwnt, Aberporth, Tresaith, Penbryn, Llangrannog and Cwmtydu.

The coastal bus offers an environmentally-friendly way of enjoying the spectacular scenery of Cardigan Bay, with its cliff tops, headlands, beaches and secluded coves.

The service will link towns, villages and tourist accommodation establishments along this section of coast and provide an easy way to gain access to the coast. It will also help walkers gain access to coastal footpaths without having to use a car. In addition, the service has been devised with cyclists in mind: the coastal bus can carry two bicycles.

The Cardi Bach bus service is a pilot project supported under the Ceredigion Coast Path project (Objective 1).

The coastal bus will operate on a 'Hail and Ride' basis; passengers can be picked up or set down at any point along the bus route provided it is safe to do so. Timetable information for the Cardi Bach (service number 600) is attached. The timetable can also be found at the Richard's Brothers web site: www.gobybus.net

* Increased coastal public transport has also changed the lives of residents in neighbouring Pembrokeshire, making the beautiful scenery accessible to those who would otherwise be restricted to routes between towns.

The Poppit Rocket, Strumble Shuttle and Coastal Cruises bus services will run seven days a week until October with a reduced service on offer during the winter and spring.
