NEWLY formed Abertillery BG, an amalgamation of the Abertillery and Blaen-au Gwent clubs, will play their first competitive game of the season at Old Penarthians' Cwrt-y-Vil ground in the preliminary round of the Konica Minolta Cup.
The game will kick-off on the weekend of August 28 before Aberillery BG begin their league programme the following week.
Of the four Welsh Districts Cup representatives in the competition, only beaten semi-finalists Markham appear in the preliminary round. They travel to Tredegar.
