GLAMORGAN Dragons face a selection quandary for tonight's Twenty20 Cup quarter-final against Warwickshire Bears, because flamboyant batsman Matthew Elliott is fit to play.

Elliott (pictured) is available after missing the last two Twenty20 games with flu, having returned to Glamorgan after a brief stint in the Australian Test side.

However, his comeback causes a real selection headache for skipper Robert Croft and coach John Derrick, because Glamorgan won five of their six Twenty20 group games without Elliott and his compatriot Michael Kasprowicz.

One option that has been suggested is that Matthew Maynard steps-in behind the stumps in place of Mark Wallace, but that is surely a non-starter after Wallace's match-winning 31 at Worcester last week.

Adrian Dale could find himself the unlucky man once again, although he picked up three key wickets at Worcester.

Another option would be to leave Elliott out and stick with last weeks' winning formula, but it seems unlikely that such a clean striker of the ball as Elliott would be left kicking his heels now the competition has reached the knockout stage.

Warwickshire are the only side to have registered a win against Glamorgan in the competition so far this year, which adds extra spice to tonight's showdown.

Glamorgan restricted Warwickshire to 152-9 at Sophia Gardens but were then rolled over for 126.

Skipper Robert Croft commented: "We should have beaten them in the first match after manoeuvring ourselves into a good position, but we are now looking forward to a superb occasion.

Regardless of team selection Glamorgan are likely to face another bumper crowd at Sophia Gardens tonight, having earned home advantage by topping the qualifying group.

Ashley Giles is likely to miss out for Warwickshire because of England Test duty, but Australian spinner Brad Hogg, who took 4-30 against Glamorgan in the round-robin phase will play.
