VISITORS to Caerleon got a taste of life in the Roman world at the weekend.
Roman soldiers and civilians were at the town's Legionary Museum's Military Spectacular.
The events included the sampling of Roman foods and meeting a Roman doctor, to watching soldiers marching into the amphitheatre just as they did 2,000 years ago.
Visitor Christine Chan, who attended with her son Jonathan, aged eight, said: "History was brought to life today, it really is excellent. It's perfect because the children are learning about it in school and it helps their imaginations."
