MAZDA has simplified the popular Mazda2 line-up and introduced two new stars offering customers higher specification while maintaining the value for money pricing that is so important for superminis, priced from £7,995 to £10,495 on-the-road.
The Mazda2 range has been realigned to a three model line-up to increase its appeal to customers. The two new models Mazda2 Antares and Capella, named after two of the brightest stars in the night sky, join the S model and replace TS, TS2 and Sport.
Both new models feature a dark blue theme providing a refreshing change to the 'greyness' of some modern interiors. This includes a unique seat trim that's colour co-ordinated with the door inserts, gear lever surround, and detailing on the carpet mats and scuff plates. On the outside there are two new exterior colours - Glacier Silver metallic and Deep Navy solid.
Compared to the S, the Mazda2 Antares adds standard air conditioning, electric front windows, CD player and body colour mirrors. The top-of-the-range Mazda2 Capella adds new design 15-inch alloy wheels, electric exterior mirrors, a six-speaker audio system and chrome exhaust tailpipe.
Mazda2, available as a five-door hatchback, offers 'big car' quality with the sort of driving dynamics and generous specification levels that represent outstanding value for money. The Mazda2 1.25-litre S model remains priced at £7,995, representing a customer saving of £770 until June 30, 2004. Customers also benefit from three years' free servicing on all new Mazda2 models.
