SUPPORT act Cathy Davey gave Supergrass' Cardiff Uni a Fairground Attraction last month.
Fresh from propping up the rockers, next month Cathy can be found supporting another, Blur's guitarist, Graham Coxon.
Dublin girl Cathy has just released a new EP, Come Over, which has been noted for its spite-infused songs belied by their chirpy Irish under-jig.
"I'm not spiteful, but I like the way spite comes across," she says. "Spite has more of an impact than la la la love.
"There's a nasty undertone to everything I do, emphasised by the pretty bits and the grit underneath."
The 25-year-old singer, who appeared on Elbow's Grace Under Pressure, references PH Harvey and Bjork and worships at an altar to Kate Bush. "I Love Wuthering Heights and Running Up That Hill. They're so abstract and cold moor-ish, which is always good."
The songs on Come Over suggest good times are to come on her forthcoming album, which is due for release late this year.
Cathy Davey plays The Engine Rooms, Cardiff Bay, on Wednesday, June 2.
