A NEWPORT teenager suffered multiple injuries after falling from the second-floor balcony of a block of flats early yesterday.
Six people were arrested following the incident at Vermeer Crescent, near St Julians Park, at 4am, and were helping police piece together the events leading up to the injured youth's fall.
But they were all released without charge yesterday evening.
The condition of the injured teenager, a 17-year-old from London Road, Maindee, was last night said to be comfortable.
He was on the high dependency ward at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, although his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Officers are still waiting to speak to him, after he regained consciousness last night.
The block of flats was yesterday cordoned off with police tape and an officer was standing guard outside the building.
Detective Sergeant Mark Warrender, of Gwent Police, said yesterday that officers discovered concrete from the balcony on the ground where the teenager landed.
DS Warrender said: "Debris was found alongside the person who fell, which appeared to be a coping stone that you find on top of walls.
"We've conducted inquiries in the area with local residents, and we would be grateful if anyone else with information about what happened could contact Maindee CID on 01633 838111."
