THE Iveco Daily range has been voted Best Light Truck 2004 in the Commercial Fleet Word Honours, judged by a panel of industry experts representing the leasing industry, fleet managers and residual value guides.
The announcement was made at a special awards ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, where the Daily was praised for the breadth of its range, made up of over 3,000 different models between 3.2 and 6.5 tonnes in the UK.
Gibb Grace, editor of Commercial Fleet World magazine, said: "The current Daily model was launched in 1999 and a number of changes and introductions have been made since then to keep it bang up-to-date. These include the launch of a 6.5 tonne model that is available as a chassis cab, chassis crew cab and a high roof panel van.
"The Daily really is the quintessential light truck as its extensive model range can be tailored to suit almost any transport role, whether that is for general haulage, refrigerated transport, operations in the construction industry and even vehicle recovery," he adds. Since its original launch in 1978, Daily has won the hearts and minds of well over a million users worldwide and is market leader in the 3.5 to 6.0 tonne sector in key major Western European markets.
