RENAULT has scored a hat trick of awards in the 2004 Fleet World Honours with Scenic scooping Best MPV, Kangoo Van winning 'Best Light Van' and Renault Trafic taking top honours in the 'Best Medium Van' category for the second year running.
The awards took place in a special ceremony in London (Tuesday, May 11) and were attended by VIPs of the fleet industry. The awards were judged by a panel of experts representing the leasing industry, fleet managers, residual value guides and Fleet World's editorial team.
Keith Hawes, director, fleet and light commercial vehicles at Renault, who accepted the awards, said: "It is a huge honour to pick up three awards at the Fleet World Honours especially in such competitive and prestigious categories such as Best MPV which is an excellent achievement as Scenic is only in its first year of sale. "The fact that the awards are voted for by those working in the fleet industry with hands-on experience and those who influence fleet buyers make the awards even more of a triumph."
Renault's New Scenic takes top honours in its first year on sale winning a very competitive category and with the recent addition of the seven-seater Grand Scenic to the Megane family the vehicle's popularity can only increase.
Kangoo's many innovative features such as the folding front passenger seat and hinged bulkhead and the availability of side load doors, as well as its recent facelift, all contributed to the vehicle picking up the award for Commercial Fleet World's 'Best Light Van'.
For the second year in a row, Renault Trafic - code named X83 - has won Commercial Fleet World's Best Medium Van picking up its own individual certificate.
