VOLUNTEERS have been busy designing, making and selling Mother's Day cards to help raise money for our Sparkle Appeal.
A number of people have made the cards after a donation of materials from Hobbycraft, Newport, to help the appeal.
We launched our Sparkle Appeal last December with the aim of raising £250,000 towards a £6 million children's centre to help disabled children in Newport, Torfaen and south Monmouthshire.
The volunteers have been selling the special cards for £1.50 in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
Tina White, project development manager, said: "We can't do this without the volunteers' help, it is so important because they give so much time, effort and energy that we simply couldn't do without them."
* Anyone wishing to volunteer or find out more can visit a special open evening tonight from 4pm until 8pm at the large lecture theatre, Postgraduate Centre, the Royal Gwent Hospital.
If you are arranging any Sparkle Appeal fundraising events, please tell us about it by telephoning Helen Roberts on 01633 777231.
