SINGER Julie Murphy and guitarist Dylan Fowler will be the latest folk stars to play St David's Hall's Roots Unearthed: World Rhythms next week.
And, possessing an angel voice and accomplished guitar playing between them, it should be a haunting evening of traditional Welsh music. Exquisite melodies and the passion of Welsh song are featured in a performance, as ancient Welsh music is stripped to its bare essentials of passion, emotion and haunting melody and is recreated with stunning results by this duo.
The duo have recently released a CD of duets together, Ffawd, which features rare material alongside more familiar songs presented in a new way.
Hear it in St David's Hall, Cardiff on Tuesday, May 18, at 8pm. Call 029 2087 8555.
