THE latest Renault Laguna has recently set several benchmarks in the popular mid-sized family car market, with a distinctive, stylish design that was the first car ever to achieve the maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash test score.

Recognition of these high standards has come in the form of various awards including the Laguna Sport Tourer 2.2 dCi 150 receiving Diesel Car magazine's current Estate Car of the Year, and the Laguna range not only won Auto Express' Best Used Family and Diesel categories last year - it also scooped the Used Car of the Year 2003 title overall.

But rather than rest on its laurels, Renault has improved Laguna and introduced its first Euro IV compliant diesel engine and a new GT version to ensure that it heads its class with the finest blend of equipment, performance, style and technology.

Commenting on the release of the new Laguna, Philippe Talau-Derible, managing director, Renault UK Limited, said: "The latest Laguna has been a phenomenal success for Renault in the last couple of years, establishing Renault as a strong contender in the medium-sized car market, in both the private and highly competitive fleet markets. With the latest improvements made to every model, we have underlined our commitments to stay one step ahead of the competition and offer a more stylish, safer and dynamic car.
