A LORRY driver was injured and motorists were caught in massive tailbacks yesterday after a heavy goods vehicle overturned at one of Newport's busiest road junctions.
He was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, with a fractured collarbone and other minor injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident on junction 28 eastbound at Tredegar Park roundabout at about 1.30pm.
The slip road on to the eastbound carriageway was closed - and remained closed this morning - and motorists were advised to take an alternative route.
One lane reopened at 8.45pm but the other lane remained closed overnight as diesel was cleared from the road.
