The newly-validated MSc in Strategic Supply Chain Management at the University of Wales, Newport has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
"We are delighted with this award," said Chris Lee, the course programme leader at the Newport Business School. "This is exactly what we wanted from developing our links with the professional body. This now enables the programme to be a double award for students who complete this masters programme. Not only will they will be awarded an MSc from the University of Wales, but will also receive full membership to the professional body (MCIPS)."
Mike Travis, Dean of the School, added, "This award strengthens our professional portfolio at a time when the business school enjoys a strong reputation with other professional bodies such as ACCA and CIMA, CIPD, CIM and the Chartered Management Institute.
"The MSc is a collaboration between two schools within the University, the Newport Business School and the School of Computing and Engineering.
The programme is due to start in September 2004 at the Allt-yr-yn campus and is available in a full-time, part-time and block study pattern. If you are interested in joining the programme you can contact Chris Lee on Christopher.lee@newport.ac.uk or the University Information Centre on 01633 432432.
