NEWPORT Business School is celebrating a number of recent successes - including students whose record-breaking exam results place them among the best in the world.
A review by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education awarded the School the highest possible ratings in both standards and quality. Newport recently became one of the first universities in the UK to gain the highly-coveted Premier Plus status awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for the quality of its accountancy courses.
One of the factors for this success is the excellent ACCA pass rates at the school - which easily exceeded ACCA's strict Premier Plus targets.
For the second year running, the University has been rated the best university in Wales for entrepreneurship education. A report published by the Knowledge Exploitation Fund (KEF) revealed that Newport scored 28 out of a possible 30, giving it the highest ranking out of 37 HE and FE institutions in Wales.
"This report highlights the contribution that Newport's University is making to the Welsh economy," said Caryl Cresswell, Head of Enterprise at the Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise (ICE) centre.
