"Today has inspired and enlightened me," wrote one prospective student after attending a Visit Day at the University of Wales, Newport. This response to the guided tour of the university's campus and facilities was typical of the feedback following each of these highly successful events.
"Research shows that Visit Days are one of the most useful and influential sources of information for prospective students, second only to the prospectus," said Marketing Officer Kate Dickson, who organises the events.
Many visitors praise the 'friendly staff, helpful students, useful tours and information,' while another - obviously satisfied customer - commented, 'An excellent place, I look forward to attending next year'.
Newport's university holds six Visit Days throughout the academic year. They include talks by the Students' Union President and the careers department and comprehensive information is provided on student services, tuition fees, and accommodation. The remaining Visit Day for this academic year is Wednesday 12 May.
"Visit days always prove to be very popular," added Kate, "and because demand is likely to be high, we always recommend that people book in advance."
