NEWPORT County midfielder Nathan Davies and Cwmbran striker Chris Summers have been called up for the Wales semi-professional squad travelling to Scotland to compete in the Four Nations Tournament at the end of May.
The pair were not in coach Andrew Beattie's original 18-man squad but have been added after the withdrawal s of Newtown's Peter Smith and Port Talbot's Mark Dodds.
County's Davies, who has enjoyed a blistering end to the season, is in the squad for a third successive year and joins up with team-mate Gary Lloyd.
Davies said: "I am really looking forward to going to Scotland with the squad. It is really a privilege to represent your country.
"We have a good squad of players with a lot of lads from the Conference along with the Welsh Premier League players and we should have a good chance of winning it again (Davies was part of the victorious side in 2002)."
Davies, relieved to be included after some confusion, said: "I was told that I was in the squad before it was announced and then I saw the team in the paper and I wasn't in it. But it seems that I was selected all along. I don't know what happened but the main thing is that I am part of the squad."
Meanwhile, Summers said that he was "surprised" at his inclusion into the squad. He said: "I was a bit surprised when I got the call, but it is great to be involved.
"I was bit disappointed not to be in the initial squad because I have had quite a good season but I couldn't have been far off. So it is great to make it now."
Summers, whose previous involvement with the semi-pro side was in the days before the four nations tournament, said that he was looking forward to meeting up with some familiar faces.
He said: "There are six or seven of the guys that I know really well, so I'm looking forward to playing with them again.
The hitman, who broke the Welsh Premier League record for scoring in consecutive matches (17 goals in 11 games), said:
He said: "I played for the Wales non-League side against Scotland in Aberdeen at Pittodrie (home to Aberdeen FC).
"All I remember is that it was in October '98 and it was freezing cold. The pitch was the best I have played on and the people were very welcoming.
"But hopefully it isn't as cold this time."
The action kick-off on Tuesday, May 18 (7.45) against hosts Scotland, Thursday, May 20 (7.45) against old enemy England, both at Keith, and the final game is at Inverurie on Sunday, May 23 (12.30) against Republic of Ireland.
