Craft in the Bay is the gallery run by the members of the Makers Guild in Wales in Cardiff. The members are from all over Wales and have been selected because of the high standard of their work.
In the gallery you can see ceramics, textiles, jewellery, baskets, prints, metal work, wood and furniture. The Guild also has an exhibition gallery where it shows the work of nationally and internationally renowned makers. Workshops are also tutored by members of the Guild.
Craft in the Bay has just moved to a new and permanent home in a restored and extended, listed, maritime warehouse in Cardiff Bay - described as Europe's most exciting waterfront development.
The Gallery hosts changing exhibitions which include work by established international craftspeople and artists.
Also, there is a varied programme of craft and associated applied art workshops with tutoring, not only by the highly qualified members of The Makers Guild for Wales, but also by guest specialists. These classes target everyone from beginners through to the more experienced.
Our new gallery and workshops are now open and provide an ideal venue for us to continue with these events.

Waterfront City A freshwater lake with yachts skimming its surface, al fresco bars and cafs designed for elegant living, a stunning five-star hotel, a beautiful little art gallery housed within the tiny wooden Norwegian church and Techniquest, the UK's most visited science discovery centre - these are a just a few of the surprises awaiting you in Cardiff Bay.
What used to be the old docks area of the city has been totally transformed and majestic old Victorian buildings which once served the world's biggest coal-exporting port now meld elegantly with shiny modern monuments.
The opening of the awesome Wales Millennium Centre in November 2004, a purpose-built arts and entertainment venue and the new home for the Welsh National Opera, will also add to Cardiff's growing cultural reputation in that the city is now a designated Centre of Culture, an accolade received for being short listed for the title of European Capital of Culture 2008.
The Bay is home to Wales' National Assembly, the country's political headquarters, and many businesses have also been attracted to set up in Cardiff's newest quarter.
Consequently, Cardiff Bay is very well provided for when it comes to bars and restaurants!
There are numerous traditional pubs offering excellent lunchtime snacks, as well as chic bistros - and the world's most popular Harry Ramsden's.
