Newport Gwent Dragons will have Wales forward Michael Owen back in their side while Ulster will be strengthened by the return of outside half David Humphreys for Saturday's Celtic League top-of-the-table clash at Rodney Parade.
The teams have already met three times this season with Ulster triumphant in the league and Heineken Cup at Ravenhill and the Dragons winning the Heineken Rodney Parade game.
They need to even the scores if they are to maintain their challenge for the league title. At the moment the Dragons lie in third place three points behind leaders Ulster with Llanelli Scarlets in between, one point ahead of the Dragons.
Current internationals have been released to play in the match, Owen and Humphreys the leading lights, but Newport could also have Hal Luscombe back after he, too, was released from the Wales squad having recovered from a knee injury.
The Dragons have delayed selection of their side, and may not name it until just before the kick-off.
Back row trio Ross Beattie, Jamie Ringer and Bob Skinstad are all causing concern with a variety of leg injuries.
Skinstad and Ringer both went off during the second half of last Friday's game against Neath-Swansea Ospreys while Beattie has been missing for the past three matches.
Prop Chris Anthony is also doubtful because of a shoulder injury which has kept him on the sidelines.

The launch is at Spytty Tennis Centre, Newport, tomorrow at 6pm.
The official launch meeting of the Newport Rugby Supporters Trust Fund is being held at Rodney Parade tonight, 7.30pm.
"The launch of the trust will present ordinary Newport supporters with the opportunity to play an active role in securing the future of Newport RFC, something that many supporters have been asking for in recent years," said trust chairman Andrew Cox.
"The launch will provide an opportunity for supporters to sign up to the Trust, but more than that it will also be an occasion where supporters are able to celebrate the illustrious history of our great club."
Among the guest speakers will be Newport chairman David Watkins and long-serving current prop Rod Snow.
