ACCLAIMED Welsh singer-songwriter Christopher Rees is calling on all film makers to contribute to a multi-media event coming soon to Cardiff.
Christopher and the label Red Eye Music that he co-runs are holding a live music/film night on Friday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6, in the Chapter Arts Centre.
The evening will see his first full-band performance in 18 months and reveal some of the artist's long-awaited and now completed debut album. Expect a whirlwind performance of passion and talent from a band that features cello, violin, double bass, piano, drums and guitars.
The first half of the evening is devoted to the cinematic instrumental compositions of Red Eye Music.
Christopher's cohort at REM is pianist/composer Dave Stapleton. As well as releasing a compilation of Welsh jazz music, they're producing music for film, television, contemporary dance and theatre.
The event will take place in the theatre in front of a giant cinema screen with visuals supplied by an array of innovative young film makers, animators and artists.
The Red Eye Music section of the show will incorporate a string quartet, experimental improvisational group, Full Circle, a jazz ensemble, grand piano playing, a massacred piano, and a variety of other wondrous instruments and guests.
It's certain to be a spellbinding and memorable event not to be missed. l Local film makers, animators and artists who would like to have their work featured in this event are encouraged to get in touch with redeyemusicltd@hotmail.com or telephone 02920 471272 or 02920 396035.
