'Bring on the English.' That was Ryan Giggs' message to England and their fellow World Cup qualifying rivals following last night's victory over their fellow Celts Scotland.
Wales were in rampant form last night, trouncing Scotland 4-0 at the Millennium Stadium with Cardiff City striker Robert Earnshaw scoring a blistering hat-trick inside one hour.
And following last night's victory, Manchester United star Ryan Giggs insists that Wales have nothing to fear from any of the World Cup qualifying rivals including Sven Goran Eriksson's England side.
"After the events of the past few months and the disappointment of the Russia game, it was important to get back to winning ways," he said.
"It was a great performance and pleasing to get the right result but more importantly is that it was the perfect preparation for the qualifying games.
"We wanted to play Scotland to prepare for the home international games against Northern Ireland and of course England.
"And on the evidence of this performance then we are ready for those games now, we've shown what we can do against Scotland and there's no reason why we can't do that against England and Northern Ireland, we have nothing to fear."
Giggs also believes that last night's 4-0 victory could see Wales start a run that could lead them to qualifying for a major finals for the first time since 1958.
"It is time to move on from the Russia disappointment and we've done that with this victory. We've not won for a while and hopefully this can be the start of another run that leads us to qualification"
There was also a glowing tribute to his fellow strike partner for the night - Cardiff City's hat-trick hero - Robert Earnshaw.
"Earnie was brilliant, a thorn in their side all night," said Giggs. "He took his goals superbly and he deserves a lot of credit, he's been playing well all season and everyone in the Welsh set-up knows what he's capable of and he has shown that tonight."
