DETECTIVES are waiting to interview a Cwmbran teenager left fighting for his life after suffering a blood clot on his brain.
Matthew Young, 18, of Fairwater Way, needed emergency surgery to remove the clot after he was found slumped on his mother's doorstep, covered in blood, on Saturday.
He is now recovering in hospital in Cardiff. His mother, Sue Horgan, 40, said she fears her son was the victim of a brutal mugging. "We want the people who did this caught."
His mother believes he was attacked and robbed in the early hours of Saturday morning after a night out with his brother Andrew, 19. He collapsed at her front door at 1am, covered in blood and mud.
Two of his teeth, his fake Rolex watch and Nokia mobile were phone missing.
Police said the watch was found yesterday near the Blenheim shops in Cwmbran.
His mother said this morning: "He's stopped vomiting and his head aches have stopped. He seems a lot more cheery and has even been asking for food." But police will have to wait to speak to the teenager. "The hospital said he's not fit enough yet and he needs to get as much rest as
