TWELVE Gwent golf clubs have signed up to a marketing drive to increase golf tourism business across South East Wales.
The Greens of Southern Wales campaign will create a one-stop shop to handle all inquiries and bookings for visitors entering the area.
The service will offer a complete information package giving customers the opportunity to book both accommodation and itineraries.
Other developments under way include the production of a full colour brochure, a website at www.greensofsouthernwales.com and an exhibition programme.
Peter Cole, head of Capital Region Tourism, said: "Our plans to develop and market the region as a premier golfing destination have been embraced by the sector.
"There is a huge opportunity for clubs to benefit from domestic and overseas golf tourists ahead of the Ryder Cup. We are pleased to see so many already gearing up for 2010."
The participating Gwent clubs include: Celtic Manor, Marriott St Pierre, Alice Springs, Dew-stowe, Monmouth, Raglan Park, Rolls of Monmouth, Shirenewton, Wernddu, Woodlake Park, West Monmouthshire, and Peterstone Lakes.
