ENGLAND will take us lightly at their peril, warned Wales coach Steve Hansen today after naming his team for Sunday's World Cup quarter-final showdown at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
And Hansen revealed he has a plan to take England on, which clearly involves trying to match their formidable pack.
"We've got a certain plan. In all the previous games we've used 22 players and we'll do it again," said Hansen.
"England are a very complete side with no weaknesses. A lot is said about their forwards, but they've got outstanding backs with a lot of pace and their defence is the best in the competition.
"We have got to get some parity in the set pieces and around the park if we want to compete with them. We have got to take it to them.
"But we are probably mentally in the best shape we've been for a long time after a number of successful performances.
"With that comes better awareness of us from the opposition and I don't think England will take us lightly."
Explaining some of his selections, Hansen said: "It was really difficult not picking Martyn (Williams), as it was to leave Alix (Popham) out. But we've got a plan in mind and Martyn is happy to do what he's doing.
"We knew we had someone special in Jonathan Thomas on the New Zealand tour in the summer and everything he has done since on and off the park has impressed us."
