IN this prolonged age of MTV- friendly rock and soundbites, it's a rare thing to find a band as 'progressive' as Coheed and Cambria.
The American band play music as intricate as Yes, and go on Gothic escapades that would make the most outlandish Krautrocker blush.
They're about to release their most epic album to date, In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3, which follows their debut The Second Stage Turbine Blade.
It builds on themes and story-lines from the first album. It's uncompromisingly dark and is based around a premonition had by one of the characters in a dream that turns out to be a nightmare.
The band are following a doggedly indie route to fame, which takes them to TJ's, Newport, on Monday, February 9. Dial 01633 216608 for more info. In Keeping... is released on Monday, March 8.
