PERCY Montgomery is the individual star of the Newport Gwent Dragons team, but he surpasses himself this time by being chosen in three different positions in tomorrow night's Celtic League game against Leinster at Rodney Parade.
He is chosen at full back, outside half and outside centre, bracketed with others in all three positions, with a final decision on where he actually plays resting largely on the conditions.
Most likely is at outside half if the pitch remains very heavy after all the recent rain, when the plan would be to use his mighty left boot to pin the Irish province down.
Sione Tuipulotu is likely to slot in at full back, though Craig Warlow could still play at outside half with Montgomery at centre alongside returning Dragons captain Andy Marinos, who has recovered from a knee injury.
Bobby Skinstad, the former South Africa captain who has joined the Dragons for the rest of the season, will make his debut, but from the bench, as both coach Mike Ruddock and the player believe it would be wrong for him to step straight into the team.
With Michael Owen (Wales squad), Ross Beattie (thigh injury) and Rhys Oakley (broken bone in his hand) all ruled out, Shawn van Rensberg makes his first start since October 12, playing at number eight alongside returning Jason Forster, with Jamie Ringer reverting to blindside flanker.
Gareth Baber resumes at scrum half, with Adam Black, Steve Jones and Chris Anthony forming an all-change front row.
Promising Wales Under-21lock Luke Charteris is on the bench for the first time since early November.
