A TERRORISED Gwent family say they may be forced to quit their home because of the attacks by a masked gang.
David Price, of Penylan Road, Varteg, Pontypool, said his family have been the target of a number of incidents in the last four months, and have had 14 windows broken by bricks in five separate attacks.
The latest attack occurred on Monday night, when almost every window in the house was smashed, and Mr Price's youngest son Andrew, 17, was hit by a brick on the shoulder and had to be treated at Nevill Hall hospital, Abergavenny.
Although Andrew escaped with cuts and bruises, Mr Price, 40, is concerned for the safety of his wife Elaine, 41 and their other children Daniel, 19, and Kimberly, 16, who, he says, have been the victims of verbal abuse and stone throwing in the street.
As police said they were would investigate Mr Price told the Argus: "We can't go on living here. We are going to try to get away. It is too risky to stay here now."
Kimberly's four-month-old daughter Tianna also lives in the family home and Mr Price says he is desperate to move for her safety. "We are living in constant fear," he said."We are being terrorised to move away from the area and they have even threatened to burn the house down."
Now he has erected security lights and cameras and intends to hand over videotaped evidence of the attacks to police.
A spokesman for Pontypool police said: "Each and every incident will be investigated and we will study the videotape to try to identify the culprits from that. If necessary the quality of the tape can be enhanced. "Anyone who has any information about these incidents should contact Pontypool police, and I can offer my assurance that their call will be treated with the strictest confidence."
