A DISABLED Cwmbran man raised more than £3,000 by walking a mile around Cwmbran stadium.
Cerebral Palsy sufferer Mark Gibbons, 40, who uses a wheelchair, accomplished the challenging feat in stages between July and August last year.
He has been unable to walk properly since he was a child, but a rigorous training programme helped him achieve his goal.
The £3,200 Mark raised was given to Ceffyl Du, a disabled group based at Cwmbran's Greenmeadow Community Farm, to buy a disabled carriage.
In the past Mark has tried abseiling, scuba-diving, canoeing and sailing, but his latest fundraising feat was the most difficult.
Mark said: "It was a phenomenal thing to do, and a terrific personal achievement for me. Ten years ago I wouldn't have been able to do this, which makes it all the more special.
"I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and all the people who have sponsored me."
