Experienced striker Jamie Moralee will sign for Newport County today and may form a new partnership with Sam Bowen, another recent arrival, against Cardiff City in the FAW Premier Cup clash at Spytty Park on Monday night.
Moralee will put his name to a deal tying him to County until the end of next season when County, hopefully, will be in the new southern division of the Nationwide Conference.
The 32-year-old London born front runner whose career began with Crystal Palace, one of County manager Peter Nicholas' former clubs, initially joined the Dr. Martens League club on a month's loan from Conference side Forest Green Rovers.
Moralee, whose clubs also included Watford and Crewe, was part of the hugely successful full-time set up at Barry Town - until the finanacial balloon exploded last year, leaving the Jenner Park club in turmoil.
The Wandsworth-born Moralee, who moved to Millwall after four seasons with Palace, said: "It has all happened pretty quickly. Initially it was for a month to help Peter Nicholas out of a sticky situation - nothing more than that.
"It has gone particularly well. I have got on very well with the coaching staff and other players and I've been going into work and playing with a smile on my face, gaining job satisfaction which is important.
"There are a lot of good kids at the County and I'm looking forward to being part of the set-up and delighted to have got something sorted out.
"I have had offers from other decent teams but if you are happy there's no point in looking for pastures new.
"If I enjoy myself as much as I have this last month then it will prove a great move. Moralee missed the win at Cambridge City because of a hamstring injury. However, he trained last night and can't wait to line up against Lennie Lawrence's crack Cardiff outfit.
