LONG Island quartet Brand New will play TJ's, Newport on Tuesday, January 27 with support from Stary Light Run and Moneen.
The rockin' pop band has a penchant for playing loud, quite fast songs with strained melodies and tacky percussion, then switching to low tempo acoustic numbers.
This is demonstrated on their new single Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades, which is out on Monday, February 2 on Sorepoint Records.
The track is taken from the band's second album, Deja Entendu, which was released in November, and is the follow up to single, The Quiet Things That No Ever Knows, which got Single of the Week on the Radio One Evening Session.
Live, they have been equally successful playing the Download festival at Donnington and enjoying a sold-out gig at the Monarch in London.
Since then they've been slogging it around the States including dates with Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte. For info ring 01633 216608 or surf to www. brandnewrock.com
