DAVID Kitt releases his third album, Square One, on Monday, and plays the Barfly, Cardiff, on Friday, January 23.
The extremely versatile Irish musician is into his fourth year since his acclaimed debut, Small Moments, on Rough Trade.
Often the sign of talent, he played his own brand of electronic-tinged songs in the face of the preferred acoustic pop at the time.
His second album, The Big Romance, brought more German-aware electronics to bear on his material, which was full of harmony vocals and atmospheric guitars.
He took his music to a wider audience under the Tindersticks and The Moldy Peaches across Europe, and on mini expeditions to the States. Square One was recorded in the Loire Valley on and off in 2002 and 2003, with Kitt self-producing with a battery of old, analogue equipment.
