SHE BEGAN her career at the Newport Folk Festival in 1959, performed at Woodstock shortly after a stint in the county jail, and was a regular in Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder revues of the late 1970s.
Joan Baez is a real 60s survivor and could write the book on the Love Decade - if she wasn't more interested in singing the songs.
And in Cardiff next month she'll be performing a selection of the folk favourites that made her name, including work by Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Phil Ochs, Tim Hardin and others, in her trademark soprano.
Joan Baez plays St David's Hall, Cardiff on February 8. Tickets range from £20 to £25 from the box office on 02920 878444.
