NEWPORT County loan star, Jamie Moralee could be set to stay at the club after his spell ends on January 23.
Moralee suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat against Worcester City last weekend and is a major doubt for their trip to Cambridge City on Saturday meaning that he could have played for the last time for Newport.
But the forward has refused to rule out continuing with the Exiles after impressing during the last month. He said: "I have really enjoyed my time at Newport and I am sure I can sit down with the club soon and sort something out.
"I have to say that this has been my best spell in football and the club have a great bunch of lads.
"They have made me feel welcome since day one."
The 32-year-old Moralee and his family are due to move to London at the end of the month and his club, Forest Green, have alerted clubs in the area of his availability but Newport is where his heart now lies.
Peter Nicholas' side are on a decent run of form, Worcester apart, and recently Moralee has influence.
The striker featured in wins against Bath City and Havant and Waterlooville and the draw with Merthyr Tydfil and he came off against Worcester after only 18 minutes at 0-0 after not playing in the Chippenham cup defeat, meaning he has never directly tasted defeat in a Newport shirt.
Moralee added: "There are arrangements that could be made, but that is down to the club and my family, but you can never say never.
"But I hope something can be worked out because at this stage of my career, it is important that you enjoy your football and have job satisfaction and at Newport I have had that.
"The club is really going in the right direction and have a great mix of experience and young players and a lot of talent. Everyone at the club and the supporters have been great with me.
"At first I came in to help out for a month and get myself a bit of fitness after being out for a while with a virus but I have to say it has been better than I could have ever imagined.
"If I have played my last game then I would like to thank everyone at the club from the players to coaches, to staff and the fans."
Meanwhile, Exiles fans travelling to the Cambridge game on Saturday could find themselves hitting the net in the Cardiff City FAW Premier Cup quarter final on January 26.
The club are offering fans the chance to take part in a half time penalty shoot-out against Bluebirds' fans, through their man of the match text competition.
