A TORFAEN football team were forced to take their home game elsewhere on Saturday - because of a burnt-out car on the pitch.
The gutted shell of a Ford Fiesta was discovered on Trevethin soccer pitch on Saturday morning.
It had been driven over the pitch, crashed into a concrete barrier and set on fire.
The pitch is normally used by the Lower New Inn team, who were forced to switch venue for their Kanuf Insulation Gwent Central League game against Sebastopol on Saturday.
Manager John Wells, who discovered the car, said: "The pitch damage isn't that bad, but there's this burnt-out car there.
"This is happening all the time up in this area, and we'll have to get in touch with the council to see if they can make the pitch more secure."
A police spokeswoman said: "This was reported to us. The car has not been reported stolen and we are waiting for the council to remove it."
