CITROEN has chosen this year's Autosport International event at the Birmingham NEC (January 8-11) to give the British public its first look at the stunning new Junior WRC championship contender, the Citroen C2 Super 1600, as well as the chance to see the 2003 World Rally Championship winning car, the Xsara WRC. Dominating the Citroen stand is the aggressive looking Citroen C2 Super 1600, now in full Junior World Rally Championship form. This 225hp rallying machine replaces the hugely successful Saxo Super 1600, winner of the Junior WRC in 2001 and 2002.
Appearing alongside the C2 Super 1600 is its homologation special, the limited edition 1.6-litre, 110hp C2 GT, which has a five-speed manual gearbox and accelerates to 62mph in less than ten seconds, before powering on to a top speed in excess of 120mph.
Over on the Autosport stand, and recently crowned Rally Car of the Year, is the sensational Xsara WRC, appearing ahead of the start of its championship title defence which begins in Monte Carlo later this month when drivers Sbastien Loeb and Carlos Sainz will be flat out to repeat the success of 2003.
